A 'LITTLE' ABOUT ME

My Background

I have traveled a unique personal and professional path that has prepared me to grow my role to become a more effective and dynamic leader within any community I may encounter. I am currently employed as a Legal Advocate at Legal Services for Seniors in Seaside, CA. In addition to handling a full load of clients, a few of my responsibilities include community education and marketing, as well as a specialization in landlord-tenant law and homelessness protection. My role as a legal advocate places me directly in a position of conflict and forces me to rely on finding the proper law, ordinance, organization, and process to yield an agreeable resolution for my clients. As a legal advocate, I have gained experience researching information at the County’s Recorder’s Office, which has proven to be helpful in understanding the many city codes and ordinances.  Since joining the team at Legal Services for Seniors, I have closed over one hundred and twenty cases, as well as created weekly advertisements that are focused on community education. These advertisements, or ‘Tips of the Week’, are featured across Monterey County both in print, social media, and on NPR. I currently volunteer and serve on Pacific Grove’s Administrative Enforcement Hearing Officer Panel, which is sanctioned by Chapter 3.30 of the city’s Municipal Code to conduct civil hearings. This appointment to a local commission has introduced me to my city’s leaders and solidified a voluntary role within Pacific Grove’s management.
